Is Readywire Still in Reseller Business

Posted by mojoman, 08-12-2011, 09:11 PM
I have been with Readywire with a reseller account for 2 years 6 months. On August 5th my account went down and all the websites I hosted disappeared. It is now August 12th all account are still down and all hosted websites gone. I am having a public relations nightmare with my customers. I have submitted five support tickets with no response. On August 5th they noted a server issue, but nothing since then. Does anyone know anything about what's going on with readywire or can suggest a course of action.

I think it's time for you to change hosting company.

You may want to contact their representative here, ReadyRick as he seem to be last online in WHT on the 10th of August 2011. There's quite a few contact option under his "Contact Info" and you can also send him a PM once you have 5 post in WHT. Last edited by JLHC; 08-13-2011 at 04:50 AM. Reason: Typo...

It's not October yet. But from what I see, he was online 4 days ago. So there is chance he is contactable.

I am having the same nightmare too! Rick gave me a contact number that doesn't work, just goes to ringing. The other numbers don't work either. I paid $44, more than needed because apparently they couldn't charge my credit card on the due date. My card had $100+ in it though. My hosting package was changed without me knowing aswell.

Well his site (readywire.com) is still up. Are your issues company wide and he just has the main site on a different server ?

Posted by Jessica Lares, 08-14-2011, 02:50 PM
No idea. No one's answering the support tickets, and the live chat is down.

Posted by MrMcGoo, 08-14-2011, 04:12 PM
What is your site's IP (or nameservers and I can trace to an IP)

Posted by MrMcGoo, 08-14-2011, 04:28 PM
OK dns3.readywire.com and dns4.readywire.com are the nameservers for the main site, they are hosted at Burst and they are up. dns1.readywire.com and dns2.readywire.com are harder to trace..I do see some tracert to Single hop for the IP block but looks like he has a big IP block and what little I traced are down....

Hello, I recall Redywire had a similar issue around 2 years ago, I will look for the thread

NS12.SERVERHOSTCENTER.COM and NS13.SERVERHOSTCENTER.COM

Forget thinking about your past and start thinking on move. I don't think you have any chance of getting back your hosting if it is already down for a week without any updates.

I am still hoping. I found out that the Washington server is hosted in the UK by IDCNET...

I was able to get my money back via my bank for now.

Posted by Leonids, 08-17-2011, 03:19 PM
they replied to your messages?

Posted by Jessica Lares, 08-17-2011, 03:22 PM
No, I did it through my bank.

Got a refund from PayPal today from trying to open a new account a week ago. Let's see if they'll start answering those support questions...

Anyone ever hear anything back from ReadyWire? I'm having the same problem.

Posted by kjetterman, 08-23-2011, 11:40 AM
Readywire used to be amazing but for whatever reason developed problems a year or so ago. I had hoped they fixed the issues.

Posted by Jessica Lares, 08-23-2011, 12:10 PM
Nothing yet. They could have at least updated the status blog.

Posted by trancemode, 08-23-2011, 11:21 PM
This happened to many users like last year. Every staff just went quiet when servers went offline and its best to just move when you can.

Posted by Jessica Lares, 08-25-2011, 08:08 PM
Two weeks now and nothing. I wish I hadn't deleted my earlier backup.

Posted by Jessica Lares, 09-02-2011, 08:49 AM
One month now. This is ridiculous. No communication whatsoever.

Posted by MrMcGoo, 09-02-2011, 10:01 AM
Sometimes silence is the answer.... Shame, its not like he was giving it away, even if they did not want to continue someone would have paid for the customers at that plan rate...

Posted by kjetterman, 09-02-2011, 01:28 PM
Once the communication stopped, I went with another provider. That is why it is extremely important that customers always have a current or semi-current backup of their data. Just a shot in the dark - but maybe you could contact their upstream provider and get access to a backup of your data?

Posted by eeriedescent, 09-03-2011, 03:16 AM
I haven't heard anything either. I contested my last paypal payment to them.

Posted by trancemode, 09-08-2011, 07:31 AM
same thing happened when I was first with them. I just moved out of there. Rick was really helpful when I signed up and after 1 year with them it went downhill. Their costs weren't even "cheap cheap" like what you see today from budget providers

Posted by Leonids, 10-13-2011, 05:13 AM
well, 2 months passed... server still down... i think they've give up their biz... their ticket system's not working anymore... i've moved to a so far so good new host and pretty happy : o )

Posted by DD-Matthew, 10-13-2011, 06:37 AM
Which host did you move to ?

Posted by kjetterman, 10-13-2011, 09:20 AM
I wonder what happened to Rick and Readywire?

Posted by ccpgsolutions, 10-13-2011, 09:44 AM
Looks like Readywire have gone. No contact is not great from any company.

Posted by rv_irl, 10-13-2011, 09:50 AM
Their rep: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=33382 Hasn't been on WHT for a while either. It is a shame that companies, rather than gracefully exit the industry, just leave their customers wondering. I hope ReadyWire clients manage to get their data.

Posted by ModelWebHost, 10-13-2011, 10:31 AM
Its an amazing end of a company. I am wondering that why the owner of company run out of business without informing his clients and leaving them alone. See that so many clients does not make a backup of their data and in this case they lose a lot. However, I expect that WISE clients must had a backup and they did not wait for them to come online and moved away.
