Posted by slbmeh, 10-13-2011, 06:36 AM I didn't even have to open an account with them to get an idea about the quality of this host. I used their "live" chat pre-sales option. I asked a number of questions and it seemed to be normal initially, but I started asking more advanced questions and the answers became more cryptic. Dodging questions it didn't know the answers to, beating around the bush, giving me sales trash that I didn't care about. Then something clicked, there was no way I was talking to a real person. I started making slightly ambiguous statements that would trip up a script to find my proof. I said things like "Thank you very much for the information. You didn't address my question in any way.", and I would get responses like "You are very welcome, I am glad to be of help.", then I asked a simple question "Are you a human being?" and no response. At this point I was absolutely furious, I got a copy of the transcript and sent an email to their sales team with the transcript and explained how I felt about it, and what they could possibly to do improve their site and the chat script. I received another response that appeared to be an automated chat script as well letting me know that the employee I had a chat with will be disciplined and be given additional training and they will give me a special introductory price... At that point I had enough, because they were still unable to answer my major questions.
Posted by Olly-ellogroup, 10-13-2011, 07:24 AM Hello, I'm surprised to be saying this, but I have to agree with your comments re. their live chat system. I was curious about their "unlimited" disk space and asked them on live chat how they were able to offer it. Judging by the answers, I don't think the live chat system is fully automated but the operator(s) are/is using pre-written generic replies. I asked "How can you offer unlimited space?" Response: "Yes we do" I may be wrong, but it does seem all pre-written and scripted. Still, at least they reply to live chats unlike some companies
