Looking for a reseller recommendations
Posted by izbryte, 10-08-2011, 07:29 PM |
I've been using Dowtownhost for several years and, up until lately, have been very happy with them. Recently, there has been SEVERAL attacks on the shared server I'm on and spammers sent mass emails through their mail server causing it to get blacklisted each time. Needless to say, this caused my clients to become VERY upset that they couldn't send email. This went on for several weeks and every time I thought it finally got cleared up, the server would get hacked again.
Downtownhost has always been good at getting back to me right away but I'm concerned now about their security and think it might be a good idea to move... before I lose all my clients.
I'm looking for recommendations on good, secure hosting that I can re-sell with good support. Any help would be appreciated!

Would help us if you could provide a few more details, such as how much space/bandwidth your looking for and and at what price?
EZPZ and Inno ones that are ones that are highly regarded on here, but check out the reseller offers section and see if there is one which meets your requirements.

With the increase in the competition in the windows reseller hosting industry the hosting packages are becoming cheaper and cheaper offering full fleged services. However, as you have mentioned the secure and reliable hosting is the challenge. It requires experience and dedicated hosting support to provide reliable hosting. Look for some experienced windows reseller hosting company in the industry.

What is your budget? Also how much diskspace/bandwidth do you require?

I'm pretty sure EZPZhosting could replace your current host. The pricing are affordable and they are reputable. Willing to work with you to get your issue resolve.

willing to work with you to get your issues resolved" is a great quality in a company. "Not having issues to resolve" is much better.
Honestly I have nobody to guide you towards but I would say there are SEVERAL good hosts here. Just watch all the posts and when you see someone who seems to sound good do a search on their name. Amazing how many compliments many of them get.

I'm just in shock that DTH isn't able to accommodate / fix your problem.. I used them about 6-7 years ago for a Arcade website and they were very friendly / helpful then.. but then that was 6-7 years ago and a lot can change in that time period.

Just want to clarify something, the server was NEVER compromised, only some accounts using old software or formmail exploited, and spam is sent through it, recently one account was compromised and spam was sent using webmail too, that does not depend of us if a customer leave an old software running on their account, or have their computer compromised. We do our best to try to minimize the problems though.

Glad to hear your side Jedito
I for one couldn't even prevent that from happening, no one could.. Unless you manage all of your clients websites and update their software to the newest version on every list.. at which point, that could be very time consuming..

Hello
Dear Jorge (Jedito)
i really like you, but i agree with izbryte..
i was so happy with you, but recently you didn't reply my ticket..
i also tried to go to chat, i asked why no one is replying me?
they said your ticket is handled by Jorge, i asked where is Jorge??
they said he's in a meeting, i said okay..
i asked him, why you don't change IPs, so we can send emails ?
but !!!! no one replied me.. i tried to access chat again and again, but no one accepted my chat request..
and till now you didn't reply that ticket
Ticket ID: ICD-290372
so i moved to hostgator.com, but i'm not happy, lot of downtime, and lot of spams.
i really don't recommend them at all
whatever, i was trying to find a good host, but i couldn't that's why i convinced my self to signup with you again
i opened this ticket ZBK-918303 asking how much accounts u offer to move ?
and also no reply.... and today i received auto email that the ticket has been closed
so i'm trying now to find a good hosting
Yours
Ayman M.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I understand that we can't always keep the "bad guys" out and I'm not sure what the best solution is. I just feel horrible when I have several different clients calling & freaking out when they can't send email. They are all small business owners and that is a very big deal to them.
