Migrate from Xen PV to Xenserver, is that possible?

Posted by JoeMorris, 11-18-2014, 07:41 AM Hello all, Currently we are considering use Citrix Xenserver as our production environment. we have some Xen PV based virtual servers and we tried to convert them into Xenserver VMs following https://xen-orchestra.com/blog/migra...n-to-xenserver, but unfortunately we failed and we got errors: Looks like it's a partition related issue, Xen PV use /dev/sda1 and Xenserver use /dev/xvda1, Anyone has experience with it or know if it's possible to do the migration? Thanks!
Posted by PCS-Chris, 11-19-2014, 03:00 PM Xen PV will use whatever device name you specify in the DomU configuration file. From that error either your root= device is incorrect on your kernel configuration line or you need to correct /etc/fstab within the VM.
