Posted by USHUK, 06-25-2011, 07:01 AM |
Hi people,
I'm looking for a easy to use hosting reseller and domain registration account.
Needs to have a script (main site) that will fully automate the whole process from a customers point of view.
Any help or advice would be great.
All the best

Many providers offer WHMCS which will automate most, if not all of what you generally have to do as a provider but you need to keep in mind there is a lot more to providing hosting than simply automating the signup/payment process.
None of the hosting world is "easy" so if you're looking to make some quick and easy money, I'd suggest another venture.
Best of luck.

Are you prepared to support those clients for that one year (or longer)? If not, I would just sign them up for a provider you trust for a year and eat the cost or build it into the price of your services.

Hi,
I don't mind supporting customers, I just feel that it getting harder to get new customers, Some people are offering web design for such a low cost that i wonder how they are able to stay in business.
All the best

hi Jay,
it depends on your business strategy and plan.
to make a fast buck within short period, i think it's quite difficult as nowadays competition is getting harder and tight..
it takes time to be a profitable one..

As said above a lot of hosts will offer WHMCS with a reseller plan, but that requires a lot of setup. If you're looking for the "easy" route you may want to find a turnkey reseller. I have never used one off hand so I can't recommend one. Also, I haven't heard many good things about turnkey resellers in general so make sure you do your homework before selecting one if you go that route.

How much disk space and Bandwidth you need? And how much you want to pay?

Do you need USA location or somewhere else?

Jay you need to rephrase your request with more details, so that members here can guide you in right direction. You also need to do some research before jumping in.
Reseller hosting is a broad term,
You need Linux/Windows platform?
What control panel you are familiar and comfortable with?
You want it to be with end user support or you will be providing support to your clients?
What is your budget?
What specifications (space/bandwidth and other limits) you want?
Any preferred location (country/region)?
You want a billing system or you use your own methods to bill your clients?

Thats understandable, I think if you are already offering design services, then it makes even more sense for you to want to provide your design clients with your own web hosting services.
I would also like to point out that nowadays there are free alternatives to WHMCS (automated billing software), like accountlabs plus, something to consider if you are looking to save some money as anyone offering WHMCS is pretty much working the licensing fees into the monthly cost.
Best of luck on your new venture!

Hi people & thanks for the info.
I don't really want to make any money from offering hosting/domain name registration.
I want to be able to offer a domain name / hosting for a year (free) as part of a web design package to try & gain more customers.
I have had a look around the (reseller) hosts but the thing that gets me is the domain registration part, Hartinternet seemed to have a credit system for buying new domains but do not like the (hostpay) script they use, WHMCS seems ok but take alot to setup plus cost of script.
I would like to use Linux only,
Budget on reseller hosting £20 p/m to start
So it's just down to getting site setup to offer hosting/domains really for me.
Could do hosting setup manually but it's the domain part, I just think if i had control over all, It would be better from the customers point of view .e.g asking them for username/passwords, Getting them to change DNS settings and so on.
All the best

Using WHMCS/eNom is cheaper/better in the long run.

Your budget is reasonable enough. You should be able to get a good reseller hosting deal from a host, that offers turnkey reseller hosting. You can get a domain reseller account, a billing system such as whmcs, SSL for your billing etc.. It will help you to automate your domain registration and hosting process. Its upto you to keep it paid or free as per your choice.

Hi,
I think for the time being, I will do new orders manually as can't really put a fixed price on web design and as offering domain/hosting for free as part of it.
Mind you, Saying that will need some sort of script for support requests so WHMCS best choice and i'm sure you can turn options on/off.
Thanks for advice & all the best.
