Newbie Question
Posted by urdesigns, 06-23-2011, 06:14 PM |
I have been hosting with Hostgator and have loved their customer service and support. I wanted to upgrade to a reseller account with them and wondered if anyone has had any experience with their reseller program as wanted to create websites for clients and also use them as hosting. Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of HG reviews in this forum. Most are positive reviews.
At the price point and package HG offer, you should get high quality reseller hosting service.

Well if you are happy with their shared hosting services and you feel like they are meeting all of your criteria, I dont see any reason why anything would change when you move to a reseller plan? Its still going to be the same service, just a different package.

Ok -> you sound as noobish as me, i gotta say that im loving hostgator. (ok i didnt read the review where they overload the servers but anyway)
Hostgator reseller seems to come with all the tools you need, like an included whmcs license, when your ready just ask on chat how to get an enom account and they will help you to get an enom account (although be warned your enom account name will look like YOURNAME_hostgator and i think you can get one for free directly from enom, but if you get one with hostgator i think they give you more support -> though im not sure on that as i havnt needed support from enom yet). There tutorials are painfully slow and accurate as the guy in the vids will type at 1 word per minute -> but helps as you wont get too lost, and you know.
My sites really basic (and i mean REALLY basic) with accounts created automatically by whmcs.
For me, the best thing about hostgator was the support. The hostgator resellers WHM panel seems like a few features have been removed, ie, compared to the VPS im playing with it seems that hostgator have made it idiot proof (or in my case, *almost* idiot proof)
IMHO hostgator reseller is great for people like me who dont know what they are doing, but just starting off. And Im not sure, but seems to have all the tools you would need with easy to increase / scale up your plan as your business grows.
im currently trying out a new VPS, so far everything is great, yet i cant recommend it until ive used it for at least a month, but PM me if you want a few extra details.
