How to install SSL cert on cPanel server?

Posted by kpmedia, 10-27-2013, 09:42 PM
cPanel keeps changing $hit, and it's been too long since I installed a cert. 11.38.2 is different than years past. What needs to be done? Docs online are outdated, and I just give up trying to figure it out on my own.

From a cPanel account or from WHM? cPanel - SSL/TLS Manager under Security. - There's no guide on DF, I'll have to create one when I have a few minutes; jotting a note. WHM - Install SSL on domain (search the pane) - http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/cpan...lling-ssl.html -------------- Generate the CSR first, then just copy/paste the crt/key, then install.

Yeah, I didn't know it was one of the guides. (Not written by me.) HOWEVER... I'm trying to get the server (hostname) to install. example: server.mysite.com It says it's installed, but it's not showing on browsers. I ran into this issue a couple of years ago, when I last did it. Problems then, too. I just don't remember what needs to be done here. I hate SSL.

I did it finally. This is one of those things that frustrates me, when it comes to cPanel. You pay monthly money for a panel, and this is what you get: - outdated docs - complicated rambling docs, NOT step-by-step - tidbits on their forum - and then a few details on a few other sites It's fine if you know a concept already, and what they do makes sense. But you're screwed when something is a new concept, or it's implemented oddly. I mean, really, SSL for the panel has to be added in special area that isn't in the friggin' SSL category? Who the hell thought of that? Need to make some notes on this. (Of course, next time cP/WHM changes, its going to be obsolete. Sigh.) To those that helped, thanks for helping. And to those that laughed ... yeah, I'll admit, that was funny! Last edited by kpmedia; 10-27-2013 at 11:55 PM.
