ThePrimeHost vs Arvixe

Posted by mkcc, 01-20-2010, 02:04 PM
Hey. I've been looking around to start up a small hosting business. I found that Arvixe and ThePrimeHost offer amazing costs, or is that too good to be true. I've read some reviews and are usually positive. Arvixe ResellerClass and ThePrimeHost Furnace or Inferno 1 Arvixe offers a free domain for life TPH has WHMCS included in their packages and for the same price has a little bit more. I'd like to know if any WHT'ers have experience with these companies and can tell me about it! Thanks

I have now browsed more and have to add these..: http://deasoft.com/usreseller.php (R1), but it is a Master reseller.. http://hybrid-host.net/reseller.htm, This, TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? And instead of looking for a WHMCS, would it be worth it to buy a whmcs license? for 250$.

I'd like to delete this thread because I have spread information all over and start with a cleaner thread.. But I cant find an edit or delete button.. So basically, I pretty much have mind set on ThePrimeHost's Furnace package. They offer pretty much everything I want and have a really good price. Id just have a question, is surpass hosting really reliable? I thought they would offer too much for too good of a price, I might be wrong.

Surpass has been around for over 6 years, I would contact them directly and see what you feel about them if you are interested. They have a 90 day Money back guarantee as well.

Make sure to read ThePrimeHost TOS

I have read it and.. well I'm not too sure now.. What I have noticed would be.. "Non-Reseller Hosting Account Disk Space and Bandwidth Usage 90% or more of your content on your website must be linked from an HTML, PHP or similarly coded web page where all content is freely available to the public. Your website must consist of web pages of a standard design, essentially HTML based text and graphics. Downloadable files, media, streaming content or any file which consumes more than 500kb of space must not exceed 10% of your total used disk usage." I believe that this might be a big limitation... 1) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer then 90 seconds. I dont know how I'd be doing in that area.. is 25% a lot? 6) Run any kind of web indexer or web spider. Does that mean I cant get myself listed on search engines? 8) Image Hosting Scripts (similar to Photobucket) I usually always have somewhere an install of an uploading script like Uploader (for private use only, 4-5 users) from CeleronDude, and also have user-submitted image galleries for community sites, would that be not permitted?

Hi Mkcc, Thank you for your interest in our Reseller Hosting plans. If you'll read closely it says "non-reseller" hosting accounts. The Furnace class plan is a reseller hosting account. That is pretty standard for many hosts. Most of your scripts should run fine. No, this means you cannot run you're own spider software. In other words Google and other search engines have "spider software" that crawls other websites to index them. If you're not running a search engine such as google you have nothing to worry about. For a few friends that is fine. Just so you're not running a free image hosting service to the public. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our sales department. Agreed. In fact you should read each and every hosts' TOS to ensure your needs match up with the said Host's offerings. If you have any questions about any hosts' TOS I suggest you contact their sales department for clarification.

I have used Arvixe in the past and had no problems with them, fast support and good servers.
