Server Capacity Planning Formula

Posted by Masud, 09-19-2013, 07:22 AM Dear WHTers, We are building a server architecture for a client where they are expecting some god amount of traffic in next 3 to 6 hours. Right now they have 2 products on 2 stand alone servers and I was suggested this server architecture by their team : 2 Web + 1DB server along with load balancer and fail over. Now we are trying to calculate the capacity and all and are kind of stuck here. Can anyone suggest some effective server capacity planning formula or is there any tool for the same? I have checked some options on Google but that didnt help. Thank you guys in advance. Regards, Masud
