Need help in starting a hosting website!
Posted by TKNASS, 11-11-2009, 09:00 AM |
Hi all!
I'm caught up among three reseller hosting sites that I found very interesting. they are hostgator, site5 and eleven2. Please feel free to recommend others as well!
What I'm looking for with the resellers is the ability to provide 3rd party apps (within Cpanel if possible) e.g. bookkeeping cloud-ware and free/paid software downloads that can help their business. If they can also include online and phone support that would be great!
My hosting services will only cater for businesses within particular countries.
Many thanks
Tarek

Hello,
Hostgator is great company and they have great reseller program, but they dont allow overselling. So if you take their "Aluminium" reseller plan you get 24 gb of space, so you can make only 24 accounts with 1 gb allocated. If you go with them forget about overselling.
I havent used Site 5, but you can do a simple search and read a reviews about them.
I wouldn't recommend Eleven2. Their support is bad and ignorant. Also they oversell toooooo much.
You can also look into innohosting.com and jixhost.com
They have great service and great support.
Jixhost has 24/7 live chat support and they are always online.
Hope i helped

Hi, first thanks for the recommend,
i check innohost, looks like only the Professional plan is acceptable and have no account limited.

25 accounts will be fine. If you outgrow that limit, you can upgrade at any time and keep the prices at minimum.
If you want to host more than 25-30 accounts, consider getting a decent VPS.

That may be a reason to consider hosting in relatively close proximity to them, especially if those businesses are not marketing globally.

That is why my plan will be purely b2b and marketing it will include us going at it personally. In the future I would like the possibility to expand the concept globally, starting with EU first as I live in this part of the world!

Ok Hostgator is out of the question.... The sales person wasn't helpful and did not offer any other alternatives if I did exceed their highest GB limit in the reseller package.
Shame they have such great free templates on offer for my clients.

Actually a lot of hosting provider have a good services and price, but thats depends on you. Every host has different services. Great hosting company is good, because they can give you satisfaction when used their host.

Definitely not the case at all here. We have added allot more personnel in the past month as well as appointed someone to strictly manage response times, and quality of response and our customers are loving it. We will prove to anyone of you here we are not 'bad' nor 'ignorant'.
We oversell no more than the others that were mentioned. We do provide unlimited hosting, but all of our servers are running a very good load right now. We have sites that get on digg or other popular sites and due to the low amount of accounts we put on each server, we are able to handle those type of events just fine. So you cannot really say we oversell if your sites are running fine all the time.

Hi Rodney... Thanks for the direct response. You seem to be the only one at the moment that defended your claim. I will seriously consider E2 again, although I would be a small host and a new one at that compared to other major ones in the hosting business.
