UK Resellers

Posted by Losvre, 01-16-2009, 09:55 PM
Hello everybody Could you please post a few good resellers with data centres in UK? I really need to start as soon as possible and need your suggestions/experiences. Important is quick support, if they would help by installing some script for me, and of course reliability and fast servers. Thank you

I highly recommend that you check out HostDime's UK operation. Although their based in the US, their UK server are freaky fast. I used to have a shared hosting account with them and I my ping times averaged like 50ms from Chicago IL USA! Very speedy network and excellent customer support.

Thank you Hi can you list your main hosting requirements, ie diskspace/budget/OS/ etc

Hi Need to start at about 15/200Gb and be able to go up to 30-50GB disk, 300-500GB Bw, and spend about £30-40 for the largest plan. Cheers

help by installing some script for me This may be a bit difficult to achieve since hosts generally do not provide support for 3rd party applications. It would be very time consuming to install scripts for customers at no charge, unless of course they have a lot of time on their hands.

Take a look at Uk2.net

It would be very time consuming to install scripts for customers at no charge, unless of course they have a lot of time on their hands. I mean if help is needed after installing a script, not to install it for me. And for scripts that are for professional use like an eshop, not for fun. And what about these in Fantastico, in case something goes wrong? Would you at least give some advice? Thank you

It would entirely depend on the host and would probably be something that you would need to ask them individually. Some hosts will help with scripts that are installed by Fantastico or by yourself - whereas others will simply point you towards a support forum. I'd recommend shortlisting a few hosts and asking the question though their helpdesk. Not only would you get a better answer, but you'd be able to judge their response time too.

It would be very time consuming to install scripts for customers at no charge, unless of course they have a lot of time on their hands. Which is usually true for small hosts. One would however expect a reseller hosting provider to not fit that requirement for long. With 24/7 support a must these days, they have to get enough customers to cover the cost of having the necessary staff. By the time this happens, they're no longer a small enough to tinker with each customer's site, and if it doesn't happen soon enough, things could turn really ugly.

I agree with all above and apologize to eming if I insulted him. I have no personal experience with UK2 and so I do not state anything here, good or bad. About Ifusionhosting, they look good but their terms and conditions is a bit of somehow. They state if you use much of the resources we suspend or terminate the account and a script can also be deleted with prior notice if disturbs the other users or the server itself. I must say that if someone wants to be professional is better to contact the user prior to suspend terminate his account because the user makes his living out of the service as well and might not be his/her fault for stressing the server. A termination of service can terminate a whole business, so we all must act honestly and be serious when doing business, we are all in the same boat after all. Thank you for your time and that listening to me.

Thank you Can the hosting company be located in the U.S. as long as they are using a datacenter in the UK? Would that work for you?

Posted by Losvre, 01-23-2009, 04:25 PM
hello yes, the company could be in US and data centres in UK, depending on the support they provide. I probably aquire accounts in US data center as well, after time, and when business go well. Thanks
