Posted by piukeman, 05-07-2013, 01:00 PM Hi, this is my first post here :-) My query it 's the following, I am building a web service hosting for my privates clients, they are just a few, this will be a very small project (8 clients). I purchased a Cloud Vps and start my setup. 1 Purchased a domain .com 2 Setup DNS sever with bind by hand 3 Then I installed some common packages, like Dovecot, Postfix, Mysql, PHP, and so on 4. Here comes my Real query, I installed ISPCONFIG3 succefully, but how I proceed, there are a couple of things that are not clear for me. * Before I can start using it do I have to setup Postfix and Dovecot by hand or do I need to setup something in ISPCONFIG. * Again do I have to setup virtual domain and virtual user for emails/web (Postfix/Dovecot/Apache2), or It 's automagically generated by ISPCONFIG when I create a new client/hosting. How I must go on from Where I am I have DNS setup, Httpd, and I would like to know how to proceed with ISPCONFIG3. Thanks in advance, hope someone can advice me :-)
Posted by steven99, 05-07-2013, 05:59 PM Have a look at the tuts at http://www.howtoforge.com/howtos/linux for how to setup a "perfect server" using ispconfig and those items. They have dozens of howtos on how to setup ispconfig with different linux installs and different setups. Once those items are installed, ISPconfig should find them and configure them when you add clients/mailboxes/dns/etc.
