Reseller hosting at IntegrityHost
Posted by Ogle, 01-18-2009, 10:21 PM |
I am a little concerned about my host, IntegrityHost. My reseller account has been with them for almost 4 years with minimal problems. When I originally bought the account, I intended to resell hosting but have been distracted by other work. I have put 14 of my own undeveloped sites on their servers and 2 very inactive sites for friends.
Recently, I've logged into WHM to add another site. When I looked at Service Status, it appears the server is approaching maximum capacity (95%?). I've never paid any attention to the server information, since my sites are undeveloped and inactive.
When using a reverse IP lookup on DomainTools.com, it says there are 496 domains hosted on this IP. When I look at the listing, only a couple of my sites appear on the entire list. I'm wondering if maybe the DomainTools reverse IP lookup might be giving inaccurate information?
I'm again considering becoming an active reseller. IntegrityHost is charging me 9.95/month for 5G/50G plan. Not sure if that's a good deal or not since I haven't shopped around in a couple of years. My biggest concern is if I do start reselling, how to handle capacity issues. Is my only alternative to go to a dedicated instead of a shared server?
Thanks!

The /usr is where the cpanel files, softwares and other binaries are installed. This can be also a problem if they have logs that is not rotating properly so it is getting full.
They should of course check it.
As for the report in domaintools, you are seeing it as a whole server not just your accounts.

Thanks, net, for the quick response. I realize that domaintools is showing me a whole server, or so I thought. But then I noticed that several of my sites that I know are on that server are not listed. It makes me wonder if the tool is inaccurate or something is whack on my host's end.
It has been no difficulty managing my sites as they are all inactive except as e-mail accounts. I have never been concerned about server capacity issues until I saw the server status report. I realized that once I start reselling, I will not have as much control and may run into capacity issues at this host.
Appreciate the input!

Domaintools doesn't list all the domains. It's just lists some randomly.
All the best,

net is right but in my experiences MySQL databases and Logs are stored in /var and /usr is where sources and binaries are stored.
For your account your public_html is located in the /home partition and your databases are located in /var. Theoretically the system should continue to function even with /usr being very full but you should perhaps contact your host and ask them to resolve it

I would think that server capacity would not be an issue on a shared reseller server as it should be the responsibility of the host to adjust accordingly. If you have an unlimited domains reseller account then that is what you should be provided. In all actuality, it would be impossible to expect one server to handle unlimited accounts.

The owner of the hosting company will most likely add more features to the server or upgrade to a new one.
