I don't have any experience with lightppd nor do I know anyone that uses it. Being the LSWS fanatic that I am, I don't use any other web server to power my websites.
Have you heard of LiteSpeed Web Server?

No i haven't used litespeed and will never, because i like to use opensource softwares and making the best out of them. There is that fun of bringing the best out of opensource softwares, so i will continue to enjoy that fun and build on it/them.

We use Lighttpd on high traffic tube site and can handle dynamic and static content at ease. We chose to go with this since the script supports flv streaming via ligttpd and we sticked to it. Nginx always been the best when it comes to lightweight web server however lighttpd isn't far behind.

i see..what advantage do you think nginx has over lighttpd?
Also i think lighttpd is giving up a fight because their website is like near abandoned..the wikis/documentations are like really useless to say the least and i don't know if they gave up fighting or something.

We use lighttpd on all our high traffic managed video servers. Pseudo streaming with mp4/x264 support is great. The server will dish out several gigabits/sec with almost no noticeable server load. It does seem to get less development attention than nginx, but there aren't any features or updates that I've needed.
edit:
graph of one such server: http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/ima...03452-orig.jpg this server's load is currently at 0.19

Litespeed is a little overrated as far as pricing for the product goes.
Lighttpd is a nice environment which a lot of big company's use to host there websites with, including a few major "hacking" sites a long with youtube.
I've tested both Lighttpd and Nginx and i will say, i see no difference at all, on both little traffic and a lot of traffic.
The only problem with lighttpd is it isn't that easy to setup if you don't like using SSH, but for the most part it's great.
+1 for Lighttpd

i don't use lighttpd and will never use it.because it seems the development team does not have a quick speed on bug fixes and the updates seems nearly none

I have used lighttpd in the past, but if I would have to choose I would select Nginx, even over LiteSpeed. With proper optimizations you can get Nginx to work even better than LiteSpeed.
Also Nginx has cPanel plugins that you can install within seconds.
