Quality Reviews

Ok, people come here and ask for reviews of this or that hosting company. I've actually signed up for a couple of these because people reply with super reviews and then I find out they are not that super. So I'm asking anyone that has been with a company for at least 12 months that they can recommend because they have all their sites hosted with them. Anyone?

Hi for curiosity, who are the hosts that you say are not that super?

To answer that would change direction of my post. I really would like some honest opinions from people who have hosted their sites for at least 12 months and are truly satisfied. I know no company is perfect and I'm not asking that. The host I am with now I have been with for about a year. They are okay but when sites become unreachable (and your third-party monitoring service emails you of the fact) and you send a support ticket and the reply is something to the point of "looks good on our end" or "what service are you monitoring?" or "what port?" instead of facing up to it that their service was down, then it kinda irritates me. I learned to take screen shots of downed sites and statistics from monitring companies because I got tired of the blame being put back on me or that I was just another complaining client. Anyway, my question still stands if anyone would like to come forth with their hosting company that they have had for at least 12 months and are satisfied with the service and support. I would like to check them out for my own hosting needs.

Generally, looking for web hosting does come with its risks. But I would recommend getting some reviews from friends if they use hosting themselves. Whilst 1 persons experience of a hosting company might be great it might be totally different for you because it might not provide everything you need for hosting. Basically what I am trying to say is. Don't always go by reviews - Do your research on hosting companies and build up a picture of whether they can offer you what you need and what their reputation / image is like. Hope this helps in your hunt for a great web host. Kind Regards

Well WHT doesn't have a specific hosting reviews forum. You can see they are all pretty much mixed in the various forums. Its *wise* though to do your own research on any provider. If you go strictly by wht reviews you quickly learn there are favorites here and it sounds like this is something you've experienced first hand - *always* follow up yourself and send some pre sales questions to potential providers. People tend to think with positive reviews theres no need to contact the hosts directly.... and thats a bad mistake. I would also recommend searching google.com - this will bring up feedback from ALL sources.
