CXS or Litespeed ??

Posted by Rezaa, 12-05-2011, 07:05 AM
Hello, I'm using CXS for scanning uploaded files and prevent users from uploading malicious files on the server. But recently my server load is growing and sometimes becomes too high (more than 20 or even 30) due to high traffics on apache. My server manager suggesting me to get litespeed. But as you know litespeed does not support some mod_security rules that CXS using So CXS will not work with litespeed. Now I'm confused and don't know what should I do. Stay on CXS and Apache or moving to litespeed without CXS ?? Any suggestion is appreciated.

You can use the realtime monitoring feature in cxs.

That will work.

You mean CXS will work without mod_security?

LiteSpeed is the best option against HTTP flood. The current version supports most mod_sec rules, I haven't experienced any problems with the ASL ruleset and LiteSpeed yet. You might want to extend LiteSpeed with fail2ban and a custom regex to ban IPs sending too many requests with iptables.
