Reseller recommendations?
Posted by silentemp, 08-06-2006, 06:41 PM |
I currently have a reseller that prices me $25 a month, but I do not like the host. I was hoping you guys could recommend a host that offers the most space, bandwidth for the money. I hope to find a host also that has awsome uptime and can allow me to use the most of their cpu (a host that allows me to use more cpu then other hosts). Any recommendations?

I recommend a Sonet7 reseller account. They are owned by Liquid Web and the uptime is excellent and so is the service.

If you require a lot of CPU resources, you may want to look at maybe getting a vps or dedicated.
You might also want to let everyone know your exact requirements and budget as well as what the cpu usage is going to be used for. That way, people can provide more accurate recommendations and suggestions

This, more or less, goes head to head with
Generally the trick is to find the right combination for your (your target market's) needs, with the provider being able to make a profit at the end of the day.

You'll need your own dedicated server, or a VPS for that.
No host is going to allow you to use most of their CPU, when they have other paying clients on the server who will suffer.

What sort of sites will you be hosting and how much traffic and CPU usage do you think they will generate?

If you need a lot of CPU resources when I recommend to buy a vps or managed dedicated server. Because the most companies don't allow to use a lot of CPU resources on shared hosting accounts.

www.twsites.com 2 years and no downtime. I've been with them since the start, and have never had a problem.

Of course, otherwise I would not be recommending them.
I've had a reseller account with Sonet7 since December when I moved from Site5. The server I'm on is not oversold (current load is .52) and uptime and customer service from the crew at Liquid Web could not be better. Toll-free customer service is available should I need it for some reason.

You stated you don't like your current host; is that because of their cpu policy, the support, or just the not enough space/bandwidth? If you really need a LOT of processing power, its a good idea prior to signing up to be very clear about this. There'll be good reseller providers who will want your business, who will try to help/accomodate your needs.
What type of space and bandwidth are you using right now? You might be able to save money if you go with a host who'll allow you to expand as you go. So if you're only using 2 gigabyte right now but want 5 in the future, there's no need to pay for 3 gigabytes in the interim.

Nitpicking, I know, but the first statement is not necessarily sustained by the second one. What we can say is that the server is not overloaded.
Please send us a domain that you host with Site5 via http://www.webhostingtalk.com/report.php?p=4034987 . You'll remain anonymous and we'll just post a confirmation here. Thank you!
