What? I'm afraid I have no idea what you're asking. To install Linux (or virtually any OS), you need a) the install media b) a method to install it. Some variables for a; floppy disk, cdrom, dvd, network boot, etc. Some variables for b; floppy drive, cdrom drive, dvd drive, network card. Although frankly if these steps are confusing, then Linux is way out of your ballpark and you should reconsider.

Anything that can burn a IMG/ISO to a DISK will work. I use imgburn when I am using windows.

Thank you steven for being so objective ,will imgburn work for linux? Do you know brother something that works for linux and url ?,since I see no one has used the free iso burner

Again, I'll reiterate that if you can't figure out how to install the operating system, you really aren't ready to have it be live on the internet. You are just asking for trouble. Install virtualbox or something similar if you are just experimenting.

You could also install from USB if your motherboard supports booting from USB. You'll have to create the USB bootable though, but there are plenty tutorials on the net.

I've found k3b to be the most reliable GUI based burning program on Linux.

The freeisoburner seems to work fine, dying to try k3b dou have an url? thank you hhw ,also thank you mostafatherock barasero is also a good alternative. What in the world happens to you solidjoe ?,you seem really solid man really ,do you think you are god to know the things I know how to do,how you dare to say I dont know how to install an operating system,I not only know how to do that but Im also trained to partition and format an os so save your underestimations for your own self. Thanks boys for reading

Agreed. I installed it on my Ubuntu (Gnome) system because I wasn't happy with the alternatives. It brings in a fair few KDE dependencies though... But judging by the freeisoburner mentioned in the OP I think grizzled is looking for a Windows program to burn an iso image of a linux distro disk. It's a long time since I had to do that but any DVD burning software should do the job (there's nothing special about linux distros vs other .iso files). If you want a specific recommendation Steven has already suggested imgburn - I'd go with that.

Seriously? https://www.google.com/search?q=k3b Makes me concur with SolidJoe: you're asking for trouble. Then again, it may be an educational experience, so good luck with that. I'm missing the point of this thread though. The first program you named does what you need it to do. All you had to do was try it.

thanks foobic mr 8088 if you decline to abide on solidjoe then you are just boasting because if you read I said on this blog the freeisoburner seems to work fine,<> Last edited by foobic; 12-09-2011 at 12:29 AM. Reason: rudeness removed
