| hi
any comments on overall quality or other experiences with Altaire or XCalibre (both in UK) would be much appreciated
..or suggest other quality resellers in UK at around £500 p.a with phone support, at least five years in business, a client list, a team of staff (not one man and his dog) and a track record
linux/mysql/php

with a budget like that you should be good.
I have not heard of either hosts, but have you tried searching on these forums for info on the above hosts?

| Hi,
Never heard of Altaire but XCalibre are in the same datacentre as us (the suite is next to ours). They appear to be a very professional company and have been ranked one of the top in Scotland (which is where they are based I believe). You should have no problems with them.

| Xcalibre are highly respected, although I havent any experience with them personally - I'm sure they will give you a free trial if you ask :-)

| 163;500 per year is a good budget and you should be able to get quality, depending on your hardware and bandwidth requirements.
However, depending on your requirements this may ot be enough.
Quality comes at a price.
