Couldn't tell you, I can tell you I've been with AllReseller.com for over a month now and have been happy with the service, support, and pricing. KGIII

You'll never find "the best". Each one has their pro's and con's.. Each one has their own niché as far as price and package goes. And service is varied greatly between places. The only way you'll find out the "Best", is to find the "best" that's "Best for YOU".

We recommend Site5. Also you can find other reliable hosting companies by searching on this forum.

the only the best is when you yourself feel comfortable with

Hi There are millions out there, But there are not millions out there who can give you all the features you want. What features do you want in your reseller plan? E.g. Platform Windows/Linux Databases MySQL/MS SQL Support 24/7 Online/Telephone etc

Posted by KnownHost, 03-20-2006, 04:28 PM
One of the first questions would be what Control panel do you prefer using? Next, what is the price range. There is NO "best" provider as each customer has their own needs. This would be a good start to rule out particular Resellers. -Jay

Depending on what you are looking for depends on who is the best host, in terms of reliablility and up time may be one way to rate, another being quality of service and support or the features you are looking for. We recommend elitehosts due to uptime, friendly fast support, and features. Hope that helped Redihot

It all depends on the requirement! What are you looking for? Bandwidth, diskspace, etc.

Posted by sycamore, 03-21-2006, 01:39 AM
my main requirements and concerns are uptime and good support along with budget account. space does not matter much here as our clients website are mostly static providing only their companies info. Of the above you guys mentioned i particularly liked varhosting.net , elitehosts and AllReseller.com thanks guys.

I think you should search a little more as some of the names you provided have had something threads on them of late. Maybe it is better now but the thread was within the last week for sure. A simple search will lead you in the right way. Good luck. Thanks, Jay

Rahul, It all depends on what your willing to pay and what space/bw you looking for. Sometimes spending too little for too much goodies can lead to issues (not always though). So that will help you decide a bit. But also spending too little for too many goodies doesnt make you cry when googdies get spoiled cause you didnt pay too much for them anyways.

Your should take the hosts names mentioned here, and then add other hosts that theoretically fit your needs. Possible sources would be the offers forum (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4), directories with advanced search features (findmyhosting.com/advancedsearch.asp, hostsearch.com), even reading other threads here and jotting down the hosts that are recommended there. Aim for a list of some 20 hosts. After that, doing your own research is paramount. A single recommendation or critique isn't a definitive sign of a good or a bad host. It takes multiple opinions to show a trend. Some say that one should take into account that people are much faster to critique than to praise their host, and take this into account, others think that no news is generally good news, yet others think that a majority of positive opinions defines a good host. Either way, you should use http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php as best you can to find customer reveiws. Read the threads as opposed to just reading the titles, as they can often be misleading. Don't expect only positive stories. No host is perfect. Prior to signing up, establish contact with the host (via email and/or live chat, phone). Ask a few questions and see how pertinent, polite, etc. their answers are. Good luck!

Do some research on a company that best fits your business model. Test them out and if you have found a good fit, you have found the *BEST* reseller hosting company (for your specific needs)

Id recommend RSHosting.com -> they have true 24/7 support (10 minute reponse time guarenteed) and amazing uptime (monthly uptime results posted in the forums each month)

Posted by Swizzlestix, 03-22-2006, 08:37 PM
I would have to second this. The guys there will do anything for you (including make a cuppa if you actually went there!). I have been with them for 2 years and havent regretted a second. No question is too stoopid and no problem is too big. AAAAA+++++

Hosting providers are a dime a dozen. Reputable providers who offer great support and service, however are not. When reselling you want to resell a product that is backed by good service and support, and suberb uptime. If you looking to get a reseller account in the hope to make money, then I suggest you not consider a reseller provider based on price, so lets eliminate that just for a second. First thing you want to check is their TOS, AUP, and SLA. Make sure you are not investing in a bunch of hidden fees. Also you want to look at customer reviews, this way you can get an idea of how they provide service to their customers. See which package is best for your needs, look for value in packages (by this I mean bundled service) no pricy add-ons. Example if you are going to be offering hosting, you might want to look for a host that offers billing software, or invoice management system, also with perhaps tools to submit to search engines (which in most cases is not necessary, but always good to have). Then look at pricing. Create a list of providers and weigh out the good and the bad of each, then take your pick. Good Luck!

Swizzlestix and XeHSean, what experience do you have with rshosting?

Posted by Swizzlestix, 03-23-2006, 03:56 AM
I have had a reseller package with them for 2 years. I knew little about hosting when I got the package, but because of the excellent support, help and advice I have received from the support staff and the support forums at RSHosting I have been able to provide my clients with a top notch hosting experience that consistently has uptime figures between 99.95% and 100%. I'm talking over 2 years when I talk about those uptime figures too. Not just a good month followed but some mediocre ones. Whatever your support question, the team have answered it in under 10 mins (via email) every time. Thats something that impresses me. If I have a problem doing anything the guys there dont palm me off saying that "we dont allow that on the server", they dive in and do it for me. Sure there are some things that arent allowed on the servers, like all servers, they have to look out for the security of the servers to enable everyone else on them to enjoy the experience. I simply cannot say anything bad about them after 2 years. Good price Fantastic support what more can I say. Thats my experience with RSHosting and I'm not afraind to tell everyone.

Then you won't mind sharing the site/s you have hosted with them

Posted by Swizzlestix, 03-23-2006, 02:56 PM
I dont mind sharing my sites but I cant speak for my clients, although I dont know why you would want to know them? www.Mungrel.com www.Webmastar.net (my developing workbench) www.OziFilters.com.au www.KitchenFilters.com That should give you whatever tests you want the sites for.

Posted by swflnetworks, 03-23-2006, 03:32 PM
Because she's a moderator, and it would validate any review you've given to this specific provider once she checks where those sites are hosted.

Posted by Swizzlestix, 03-24-2006, 12:51 AM
Why the hell should big brother (or big sister in this case) feel they have the need or right to check my personal sites to back up something nice I say in here about someone. Way over and above their station I think! I thought she wanted the sites to check ping times or something. If she is going to ask for peoples sites she should explain why in the first instance and not be so sneaky about it.

Actually - one thing that's important to me at any rate. Scroll up and find Dan's response. (ldcdc) Read it. Read it again. Scroll down a wee bit. Find the signature in his message to the review site. Click it. Look to the left. (He's not found all the honest hosting companies so that's not what you're looking for.) Find the links that tell you HOW to pick your hosting company - what to do, what to look for, etc... There are folks, for instance, who will tell you to look at longevity and while that is important don't be fooled. If you look at *will use himself as the example* my information here you'll see I've been a member here for about 4 years. Yet, well, we didn't open the company for hosting until the first of this month. So what would appear to be longevity is not always true. Then again, we plan at running at a loss and even if we remain that way we're okay because combined we're paying less for hosting than we were apart so running at a profit that's less than our expenses is okay for us because we're able to host our own accounts for that and we'd spend that much normally. So we'd be (and no - we don't HAVE reseller hosting so I'm not propositioning your business) less likely to scam you and run off or fail you. Should our folks go under then, well, we maintain backups of OUR data (and suggest you do to) and are ready with another provider in less than 24 hours. So there again is a crux to think about... Really, read the review site in Dan's signature. It's not about reviewing the various hosting companies - well it IS but that's not what you should take with you from it - but rather about how to find the hosting that suits you the best. I'm happy with our provider. I'm very impressed and though we've even had some small issues the reality is that we'd have had those anywhere and we're going to have small issues and even (oh my) downtime in the future. What I do value is the impact that they had on us when they accepted a HUGE onslaught of pre-sales questions, special requests, and some very specific above-and-beyond expectations. To us that's what mattered and price was better than we'd expected as well as the feature set. They're not the cheapest on the block. They're not the most expensive. However - it's been over a month now - we're still with them and haven't had a complaint from our few clients yet. It's still early and still a new process for us. I did this reseller bit a LONG time ago until I was burned by another company and then a company that's still in business today but this, with partners and with this company, is really pretty new as it's been a good many years since I last was involved in the industry at this level. A lot of research turned them out and they were the best company to suit OUR needs. Your needs may vary of course and likely should. Well that's enough rambling for one post... Let us know who you opt to go with and how your search progresses. KGIII

It's not sneaky at all. It's very common and done not just by the mods but also by anyone who's been in the forum for any length of time and knows the routine well enough to have seen people come in and say all sorts of things. As you have only 10 posts it is very likely that we'll ask you to provide evidence to support what you say. The main theme of this forum is essentially business and conducting business without evidence is simply silly talk. It's nothing personal - it happens to all of us. KGIII

If this is the reason as you say then whey has she not publicly validated my claims by telling everyone that my story backs up??? you cant expect people to open themselves up for stupid checks without having the results publicly shown. She has baically said "you are full of crap until I check you out". She has done this so why isnt she telling people that I am not full of crap! Fairs fair!

Posted by Swizzlestix, 03-26-2006, 06:31 AM
she has been given the info to "check me out" so where is my validation? Or do I just get left hanging.

Posted by KGIII, 03-26-2006, 06:53 AM
Maybe they don't like the way you present yourself? I dunno? I just hang out here.

Apologies for not keeping up with subscribed threads amongst my other duties. We ask this of all members, especially when they bump an old thread to sing the praises of a host, http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=466681 We ask it of members who diss hosts too, it makes reviews more credible when we can see that the praiser/knocker has first hand experience
