2+ IPs Needed
Posted by Ketracel, 03-24-2006, 06:30 PM |
Hi, I'm hopping over from the main hosting forum in the hopes that you'll be able to suggest a host that allows me to have 2(+) IPs in the same account.
I've already found IX Webhosting. They offer 6 IPs in the same account and its not even a reseller account. Also I was suggested by a helpful person on another forum to consider dotable since they offer 3 IPs in one account.
I did a bit of research and found that IX is not that great. But dotable (Aussie Bob) is.
Now, here's the thing, before I go with dotable, I'd like to do some more research and consider other hosts that can offer similar options. If you know of any shared or reseller hosting that gives 2 or more IPs, please let me know.
My budget is around $10/month.
Thanks very much.

Honestly...you can't go wrong with Dotable. I've read many of Bob's posts, and endless praise of his company
Edit : Most hosts will charge for IPs

Thanks, I'm looking for hosts that have multiple IPs included in their plans. They are out there... but hard to find for a n00b like me.
I just stumbled upon hostexellence. They have a package for $10/month which has 3 IPs. Not bad. I'll keep looking. But in the meantime, I'd appreciate any help and suggestions from the good folks here that are more knowledgeable and experienced than me.

Out of curiosity what is your need for multiple ips?

I want more than one website and I don't want them 'related'

Darn, it appears hostexellence and ixwebhosting are one and the same. Atleast owned by the same co.

Then you also need to take into account how close the IPs are to each other. At least that how the theory goes...

If you don't want them to be related I would use two different hosts.

Thanks guys, but I don't want to go that far. The sites are unrelated to each other and are diff subject matter. There is no reason for anyone to link them together. Unless they share the same IP.
That's all.
I just didn't want them to be on one IP, that way anyone can just look up the IP and see all the domains on it. Know what I mean?
Having just one host makes it easier and more convenient.
So are there any out there that you know and recommend (other than Aussie Bob, which is already under consideration) ?
