root vs Reseller

Hi all. I am about to get WHMCS, and currently i have 2 accounts which where set up with root, and was wondering. Would i make a reseller account for WHMCS to use? Do i lose any function in WHMCS or just hosting in general by using Reseller account instead of root? PS. i am using a dedicated server Thanks Greg

From security point of view, its better to use a reseller in whmcs to create/manage accounts. This way you do not have to store root login details or access key in whmcs.

Do i loss some functionality? I understand that you can't allow Reseller accounts to make other reseller accounts (i think) so i might still have to but root authentication for reseller accounts wouldn't i? I have been googleing around and i haven't found a way of doing it

Creation of reseller accounts may not be possible. Rest of the functionalities should work fine.

So really if i want to offer Reseller hosting i would need to put my root password in anyway. Thanks for your input Greg.

I am using a reseller account for WHMCS and I manually give a reseller permission from WHM.

In WHMCS do you just have it with what package to use? then you log into root and give it reseller? So the client just has a normal account till you do that? If i may ask how do you let your clients know when they have reseller rights or is it done pretty quickly that there is no need to? Thank you everyone for your help _greg
