Better Reseller Company?
Posted by mp04, 11-07-2005, 08:18 PM |
Hey,
i have been doing research for about 2 months now, and repeatdly came back to WHT for input, deals and repetuable resellers, and here i aim again
I THINK I have not norrowed it down to two company that seem good for me and my clients, and i want to get WHT member's input on them to see what they think, so here geos...
1st Company: DHWW.net
2nd Company: Electric FM Hosting
The main reason i have chosen theos two are mainly cause of the price per diskspace/bandwidth but as you all know thats a stupid reason to doit, so i wanted to know if anyone has any experence with either of the companys to help me decide. Both companys where found thanks to WHT.
Baically what i need is, a reseller hosting accounting. Right now i have about a 300 Client database and about 90% of them turn to me for good relaiable hosting with the scripting/desinging i do for them) but the company i have right now, is good, but is not a reseller, and thats not good enough since i would like to offer my clients a month or two free for them to test out.
I dont want to spend more then $15 a month and needs to have atleast 2 gigs of space. (the reason being is because we are planning of getting a dedicated or co-located server, and dont want to spend so much right now)
Please let me get you input so i can switch ASAP.
Thanks.

If you have 300 clients and you are looking to host them off a 10 dollar plan, that's abit cheap of you isn't it?
DHWW.net's offer of 100GB bandwidth per month for 9.95 is unrealistic. I cannot find the Electirc FM website though.
But DHWW is definitely a budget host, and even if they can provide that 100 gigs of bandwidth fairly, I bet there'll be some hiccups somewhere. They might not even handle 300 clients, for example...

Get freak.
At no point did i ever thought about hosting all 300 of my clients on one machine or anything like that, i just expected to host about 10 MAX clients at a time. giving them less then 500 megs for diskspace, (this will be just for testing)...
also the link to the Electric FM is: electricfmhosting [dot] co [dot] uk
Also i wanted to add another company to the list: resellerzoom with the b2 package.
any thoughts

Keep in mind that RZ makes it clear how their B plans should be used, especially if you do a lot of scripting.I would say that as a developer you are in a position where you should be able to charge enough for hosting to afford more than budget reseller hosting plans.
Your current plan doesn't seem to fit very well with your goals: If I get it right you want to wow your customers, right?
electricfmhosting.co.uk was registered just over a month ago. It'lll be very hard to find any feedback regarding them.

Do a search in the resellers offer section and find a few companies and look for reviews on them. The 2 you listed most likely arent the safest to go with.

What are you basing that conclusion on?

Im basing my decision that electricfmhosting.co.uk was registered just over a month ago and their are no reviews to be found. You would be basing your decision on price only and not on hard information. Thus, you wouldnt know what to expect. Im unsure about DHWW.net, but I did a search on google and didnt come up with much.

http://dathorn.com has a plan that fits your needs. Not the most flexible host out there, but uptime was good and support was excellent when we were there.
