I wish them nothing but bad luck and misfortune. For one thing, I've never even heard of them, or signed up for them. For another thing, had they checked my profile on that email address they sent it to, they'd know I own a hosting company. Such a shame. A pure, pure shame.

Have you ever ordered from Dinix? I had an order with Dinix well over a year before WHP bought them and I get those emails all the time. They are routed straight to my trash folder

That must be the reason. I get them too. They don't know how to stop things, I guess. When I cancelled my VPS with them, it was left on for months and it performed the scheduled backup every day. For months.

Never heard of Dinix either. Stupid buggers.

Most of the WHTers complaining about WHP's endless stream of spam, made no inquiries and report no business relation with WHP. Same with all the other folks reporting WHP spam in various locations online. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...hreadid=365422 Let's call a spade a spade, or in this case, a spammer a spammer. These guys have their own SPEWS listing, well-earned.

I'm also a bit suspicious about the honesty of their marketing: http://www.dinix.com/about/network.htm This very recent WHT thread in the outages forum, clearly indicates that they're single-homed on Verizon: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...hreadid=423776 The Dinix website also still makes claims about "Our Atlanta Facility". After purchasing Dinix, WHP immediately moved out (or was it forced out) of the Atlanta facility. I think they've had plenty long enough to update the website. I have to wonder if changing the site to reflect reality is something WHP is even considering, or if they don't have a problem with the site as-is. At this point I consider it a deceptive and outright fraudulent marketing ploy. They aren't in Atlanta, they don't have nine backbones, heck they don't even have two. There is no InterNAP bandwidth. Etc., etc.

Yup! WebHostPlus, Quontic, and Echo-Host.net are the biggest scammers I've seen in years.

I'm getting spammed by Web Host Plus as well. I've asked MANY times to be taken off their list.

Posted by swflnetworks, 07-30-2005, 11:19 PM
As far as they are concerned. There is no list. You ask to be taken off the list, you might as well be asking the wall for a trip into the space-time continuum. (Which, as a matter of fact, is where your requests went)

I guess if it keeps up then you should report it to spamcop or the other major RBL's.

Posted by BaselineAce, 07-31-2005, 11:44 AM
The e-mail is too old...

Posted by swflnetworks, 07-31-2005, 02:23 PM
2 days is too old? It's the same email they've been sending for 4 years.

Posted by ChrisTech, 08-01-2005, 04:14 PM
For spamcop reporting, emails over 2 days old, are indeed "too old to be reported".

Posted by BaselineAce, 08-01-2005, 10:40 PM
You'd think they'd learn their lesson after being blacklisted the first time!

Posted by swflnetworks, 08-01-2005, 10:41 PM
And the second time, and the third time, and the fourth time, and now.

That's BS, thanks for the heads up!
