You basically get one main account that prices $X/mo. Then, you can make sub-accounts out of the main account's resources and sell each sub-account at your own will. You can calculate it so that you can make double of what you pay to your host or even more. Thanks,

As elix said, it's essentially a chunk of space and bandwidth of your provider's server that you can re-sell to your clients. They are your clients - not your provider's. I can see where the confusion would be but in an affiliate program, you are referring them to a provider and the customer is the provider's - not yours. Hope this helps! Roj

I can try to explain it this way in a more.. physical sense, so try to stay with me Think of a server as an office building (multiple floors). You own this office building and pay for it monthly. This would be the company which sells you the reseller. You purchase a reseller, which in this example would be like purchasing a floor of this building. With this floor you can do what you want, but the main focus would be to rent out the offices to companies or persons that want it, in return for enough money to break a profit. As you expand, you upgrade your reseller which would be like purchasing multiple floors. Not exactly sure if this is clear enough, but that's how I explained it to my business teacher and he said it was like crystal. Although, he does real estate and marketing so.... In other words, you pay for space on a server that they own. You then handle billing and support for YOUR customers that YOU get. You run the company, they simply give you the tools to do so. I hope this help and is clear enough to be understood. If not, I'll try again!

Yeah! RefreshNet is preety clear... it simple enough... Out of the huge building... you rent one flat.. and sell out the rooms seperately.... you charge the person... in such a way that you get more than you pay for the whole flat. Then you get rich ! Haha! Just repeated what refreshnet had said! Take Care.

Reseller hosting for a simple explanation is where a hosting company allows you to have an account with them that you can then dice and slic into your own hosting plans and costs and then sell to your own clients. For example, if you buy an item at a wholesale price from the manufacturer/distributor and then upsell it to the retail clients that you have. You are in essense a reseller, this is also the truth for hosting. So, if you buy from BIC a whole pallet of pens at a very good cut rate of $0.01 a pen you are buyingthem wholesale as a reseller who then will sell some or one of those pens to me at $0.50 a pen. i am buying as a retial customer from you. Therefore you are reselling this pen to me. Hence you are now a reseller of pens. The smae is true for hosting resellers or any product. just substitue the pen for hosting accounts.

A web host provides a reseller hosting account to the reseller who then resells this space and bandwidth to his or her own clients. In short with a reseller web hosting account, however, you have more control. You are allowed to set up multiple web sites/domain names with your account, which can then be resold to your ultimate customers

Your not wrong, as for the ready to use scripts, basic reseller packages only offer your a control panel for you and your customers, and you can use whatever comes through that (Eg use Cpanel to set up forms or ecommerce) or you can install your own. Just remember they are your customers, your responsibility to provide support, and honour any uptime guarantees you make, not the person you bought the account off.
