WHM 11.28.45 CENTOS 5.5 x86_64 xenpv on ns1 Server load 0.65 (8 CPUs) Memory Used 43.17% (1578860 of 3657728) Swap Used 0.00% (100 of 5210104) Current Memory Usage total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3657728 3640452 17276 0 352116 1671108 -/+ buffers/cache: 1617228 2040500 Swap: 5210104 100 5210004 Total: 8867832 3640552 5227280 I have my own dedicated with 3 VPS on it per above. I have a customer complaint since I moved from dedicated to the above VPS that his javascript pages are loading slowly and another client is complaining that his pdf files are loading slowly. I was wondering if there is any "how to optimize" links someone could provide to help resolve these exact issues for the customers. thank you very much for any guidance

if this were freebsd i'd have lots of suggestions if its full virtualization (i.e. HVM) , you could rebuild the kernel with only the modules / drivers that you need, shrinking the overall memory footprint. usually the bottleneck on vps with respect to performance is with disk read/write speeds. if the disks are slow on the host server, theres not much you can really do (i.e. if they are 7200 RPM).

There are some good tutorials in the VPS section on WHT: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=108

Check the memory usage, disk i/o and also the speed of network which can help you diagnose this issue of slowness
