Australian DirectAdmin Resellers???

Help me out here, as I'm a bit confused...
For those of us in Australia, we ideally want Australian based servers (performance, timezone issues, maintenance etc.). But one of the biggest issues is price, especially when compared to US hosting.
At the same time, as I read about Reseller Management Interfaces, I keep hearing all the benefits of DirectAdmin. But aside from its great user interface, one of the big pluses is also the price.
So why then is it so hard to find DirectAdmin resellers in Australia?
If using DirectAdmin would help bring the price down, surely this would influence more Australian resellers to use Australian servers, rather than taking their business offshore.
So what am I missing here? Why is it that Australian hosting companies seem to be sticking with the more expensive and more complex cPanel rather than using the much touted, easier to use and less expensive DirectAdmin?
BTW, I'm only interested in dealing with RELIABLE hosting companies, even if this means I need to pay slightly more. My long-term business credibility is worth more than saving a dollar.

I'm not sure that it would bring the price down far enough to justify the risk, down here. Control panels like Plesk and Cpanel market themselves.

How big is the risk, because apparently the price is considerably less?
I asked one of the Australian hosting companies that offers end-user DirectAdmin plans, if they offered DirectAdmin resellers plans.
Their response was that for not much more than a SHARED cPanel reseller plan they could offer me a DEDICATED server with DirectAdmin.
In their own words "cPanel is rather costly in comparison."
However, I'm not quite at the stage of needing a dedicated server yet. Hopefully by the end of the year I will, and I'd prefer not to have to change control panels along the way, as it could confuse customers.

Actually, on a month to month basis cpanel is actually competively priced if purchasing from your datacenter. Directadmin is still cheaper but not enough to make a real difference in prices.

I mean from a customer aquisition point of view. If I were looking for hosting, and I was evaluating two providers, one with Plesk and one with DirectAdmin and just a few dollars/month difference between the two...I sure as heck would take the Plesk option.
From a provider point of view, what's the point in saving a few dollars if the end result is that you're only going to market with a lesser known (and therefore less sought after) product?

We stick with cPanel for Linux and HELM for Windows as it's crazy running more than 2 control panels...
If a client wants Direct Admin on their dedicated server I'll get it for them we still have a reseller status with Direct Admin.
