Posted by htbsales, 12-31-2009, 11:41 PM It's always good to update the server level patches as well as to keep WHM/CPANEL updated. The WHM 11.25 revision has some new enhancements that may be of interest to you depending on your usage. Obviously if you are using a hardened kernel then you would want to make sure that you don't loose access to yoru server by going to a new update. For example we've seen some problems with openssh after performing a server package update. As with any update make sure that you have a good backup prior to going forward.
Posted by laswatech, 01-01-2010, 02:21 AM Obviously it is important to have an updated kernel for two reasons..one security and the other to ensure that new softwares are supported by your kernel. However it is best to leave it to an expert rather than doing it yourself. You can ask your datacenter or any professional server management company to do that.
