Optimizing dedicated server with apache to the best speed

Posted by The-Host, 12-30-2009, 07:16 AM
How would I optimize my dedicated server with apache to the best speed it could produce? I'm a beginner at this as I used cpanel all the times previously, so I've no idea on how could I begin with this optimizing stuff. Thanks a lot if you could help. Regards.

The settings would depend on the amount of memory and CPU power you have to utilize your hardware most optimally. If you want speed try nginx as reverse proxy to apache for .php processing, however you will have to give up .htaccess functionality.

I'm not using any control panel, just a dedicated server with apache, php, mysql and phpmyadmin manually installed. Will you still be able to help in that case?

Can't edit the post above, will this optimization guide do the trick? Edit: What about this? Since it's posted on 2007, is that a bit too old to follow? Last edited by The-Host; 12-30-2009 at 12:12 PM.
