Just create the account the same as you normally would, in the domain box just put the subdomain you want to use.

there are two ways to do this: in whm, create an account as you normally would, and simply type ni the subdomain. the pro do this method is that the subdomain user receives a control panel. method 2: in cpanel for the domain you are creating the subdomain for, click the subdomains icon and add it there. either way, the domain needs to be residing on your nameservers.

You shouldn't. WHM automatically does that for you.

how do i make the subdomains werk with nameservers

Posted by Tswaibel, 03-24-2004, 10:31 PM
As long as the main domain name is already hosted on the same server, creating a completely seperate Cpanel account with the sub.domain.com should prove perfectly functional. The nameservers are already pointing to that server so things are good to go.

tswaibel is right, but since the thread started wants the subdomain to have cpanel access, they need to create the subdomain in whm.

In WHM, simply put the domain name as subdomain.domain.com and it should set up normally. If you want your subdomain to have a subdomain@domain.com email, however, you'll need to set it up in the domain account itself and setup a catch-all in the subdomain account.

do other brands (besides WHM) have this capability?

You simply type this in the domain box "name.host.com"
