ResellerWorkz or Dathorn?

Posted by Brad_Johnson, 02-06-2004, 08:09 PM
I am looking at ResellerWorkz's Silver package and Dathorn's Business package. Both are priced pretty much the same and have similar features. I have done a search of WHT and while there isn't much on ResellerWorkz, there are a lot of positive comments about HostWorkz, who I think own ResellerWorkz. There are lots and lots of comments on Dathorn, both good and bad. Sooooo... who do you think I should go with? Also, if you have used either company, do they answer support requests 24 hours a day? (this is a must!). Thank you, BJ

Hello BJ, Mind you I have not had an account with either, but Dathorn seems to be serving up nothing but mostly happy clients..

I just signed up with Dathorn today. Because of this, all I can really say is my account was created within 10 minutes and I haven't had any issues at the moment. I can't comment on anything else though since I really haven't used the service as of yet.

Pricyber -- Your account was setup in only 10 minutes?? Wow, that is fast!!

Dathorn is a great company, they have many loyal followers here. If you are new to hosting I would avoid Dathorn as they do not do much hand holding otherwise signup and you will be happy. Derrick

Yeah, my customer account was immediately setup and my WHM account details made it to me in a matter of 10 or so minutes thereafter.

Pricyber -- How is your account after 24 hours? Were you able to login to your control panel OK? Have you tried Dathorn's support yet?

Posted by Eiolon, 02-08-2004, 12:24 AM
Well, all is not good in Dathorn land. I just made a post a few minutes ago in this thread. Basically, I am able to get into my customer cpanel okay, but the cpanel32 server has been down all day. Andrew posted an announcement at 11:15 am and its almost 9:30 pm without an update. I can access other servers of Dathorn just fine but this one seems to hate me. I am thinking of canceling. I know its early but this amount of downtime without even a small update is rediculous.

Pricyber - That doesn't sound too good and doesn't give me much confidence in them. I hate down time. Have you tried contacting their support to find out what the problem is? Anyone got any comments on ResellerWorkz?

BJ, Not so much of resellerworkz but i have heard a lot about darthron on these forums. Some not so good reviews lately but overall positive feedback. Aside from that I would say look around the world does not end with only these two hosts Wish you luck in your search. Regards,

I have sent an e-mail to support two hours ago and I have also posted a message in their support forums. I am still awaiting a response.

Keep in mind: Dathorn does NOT offer an uptime gaurantee, however when I was a customer I didn't have too much problems with that. When I did, however, it was some pretty serious issues. Andrew there always answered trouble tickets fast, and resolved issues easily. It was the first reseller account I used, and I learned fast. Lots of options, I would actually recommend it to a novice as it's cheap enough with the basic package and the forums are a great source of help.

Did you know they also have a support ticket system? Go to dathorn.com, login with your dis-#### and billing password, on the upper right click Trouble Tickets.

Cpanel32 has not been down all month... look for yourself. http://uptime.alertra.com/uptime2?id2=2174&id1=402484

DAthorn are ok, I have a number of accounts with them. All the way ye

i have had an account with resellerworkz for about 6 weeks. tickets are always replied to in a quick fashion. i couldn't be happier!

I know they have a system. For some reason my login isn't working anymore which is why I sent the email support, as it stated to do in the welcome letter. However, its been almost 24 hours that the server is down. I understand that there is no gaurantee of uptime, and now I know why. The update Andrew provided is worthless. He should have ditched the server in question and setup a new one immediately after all this downtime. I am canceling the account.

whilst i don't have an account with resellerworkz, i do have an account with hostworkz, who own resellerworkz. if their reseller accounts are supported by the same support team which supports my account, you're in good hands.

And how did you sign up when Dathorn hasn't been accepting new clients? http://www.dathorn.com/order.php?action=new-order

Posted by Eiolon, 02-09-2004, 07:53 PM
I believe you are a little late on this issue savagecat. Andrew has had orders open for awhile now however he closed the order form, as stated in his support forums, due to problems with the datacenter the server that I was on went onder attack. And if you are still a non-believer for some reason, here is a link to the problem

Although I had already made up my mind to go with ResellerWorkz before Dathorn took down there order form because of datacenter problems, Dathorn's current problem enforces my decision to go with ResellerWorkz. Many thanks to all those that posted here and PM'ed me with your comments. I will keep you updated on my experience with ResellerWorkz.

It would seem that it's been under attack for several months then.

Posted by Eiolon, 02-10-2004, 03:50 PM
I don't understand. Cpanel32 is a new server, and therefore, could not be under attack for serveral months.

Posted by oodie, 02-10-2004, 10:05 PM
I think what savagecat meant was Dathorn has been under attack for several months. I know cpanel23 was attacked in August for about 2 weeks. I suspect these attacks are rather personal to Dathorn

Posted by savagecat, 02-11-2004, 07:29 PM
Close. I've seen that same "no longer accepting orders" from Dathorn for several months.

Posted by kohashi, 02-12-2004, 07:06 PM
Loyal Dathorn customer I recommend them, they have answered me within a couple hours every time, and I have managed to sleep every night not worrying about hosting
