Newbie In Need for Advices

Posted by newguyintown, 02-11-2004, 12:55 PM
Hi there With all the web hosts out there it's complicated to find one that really suits my needs and that is both reliable and affordable. Since many of you have had experience with different hosts I'd like to ask you which web hosts would you refer to me. I know that kind of question has been asked before and I want the answer to be accurate and up to date. Anyway I'm thinking about a 5GB/75GB type of reseller package and for about $25 or so if possible. Which reliable and affordable hosts can offer me that kind of services? Thanks to help a newbie find his new love. Please do not spam this thread. I'm not looking for web hosts offers but for advices from people that actually know which is the best and which sucks big time. All suggestions welcome. Thankls

25 per month for 75GB bandwidth is impossible with a decent provider. You should consider at least $40 - $50 per month. check out here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumd...p?s=&forumid=4 you will have more choices.

to be honest, you should consider VPS, if you can manage your server. You will have more power, real root access.... if you go with VPS, check out www.vpscolo.com or www.dinix.com

Interesting. Didn't know about VPS. costs might be a little too high but I guess quality is more important that quantity.

Yes you are right newguyintown quality is way more important than quantity. One possible suggestion is look for someone looking to share a server. I had an offer up a while ago for some personal sites of mine(not affliated with my company), to share a server with me, I was able to get quite a response for it. Look for some type of deal like that, just make sure the person is a server admin or has hired one to manage the server. Good luck, Derrick

Good thinking. I'm in no rush (I have like 2/3 months ahead of me) so I'll have to really think about it and see what can be the best suit for me.
