I am moving from Vox to another host how is datahosts? Do they have: *24/7 support *99%+ uptime GUARANTEED? And written in an SLA? I Don't want to get burned again! Do any datahosts customers have testimonials? ===== Kiwi has said that MCHost has guranteed 24/7 and 99%, what do you all think of them?

I do not know much about datahosts. I have heard many positive things about MCHost though.

You can consider mchost as a professional company. Uptime is more than this in reality. Mac

I've heard both things about both MCHost & Datahosts. I think their both very good, but I would prefer MCHost ( but that's just personally ). Good luck !

There is no doubt in my mind that datahosts.net is best. Great support, great uptime, great speed and on top of that great costs. I have nothing to complain about datahosts.net. If you wish you can do a search on mchost and you will see what I mean alot of troubles in too little time. I had an account with mchost as well and cancelled it because of all the troubles that customers had I didn't wanted to be a victim as well.

I've been with MCHost for over 4 months now and the service and uptime has been nothing but excellent i get a reply to my tickets after about 2 hours day and night. They have 1 reboot during that time on my machine which lasted about 15 minutes for kernel upgrades i believe. They always keep me informed through the forums and mailing list so its all good

I have been with datahosts.net for about 2 months now, and have witnessed O downtime on my accounts. I always receive replies to my emails to support... ...on the down side...the staff doesn't post on their forums often...but most hosts don't even have a forum, so...

Been having a ****load of problem with downtime from McHost in the last 2 days.. it's not even funny anymore. Right now, of their 15 servers, 4 are totally closed down.. mine being one of them of course with my luck. So.. before this week I would have said McHost was reliable but... not anymore.

There are problems with the Sprint connection at the data center and it is being fixed right now and its completely out of our control. The servers are up and running fine, just the network is having connectivity issues and about half of our reseller servers, including our machine, are affected. We're not the only company in the data center affected by this. While its sad to say, downtime is a part of the internet, a part of the hosting industry. Sooner or later, pretty much every data center will have to deal with it. Thank you for your patience.

I have an update on this ... According to the datacenter, all windows machines on the network were hit at the same time by a new worm, and all but a very, very few were infected. What happened is that because all these servers were being hit at once, both the internal network and the backbones leading out were flooded with packets - affecting an what amounted to a Denial Of Service (not the intended result). The datacenter has turned off ALL the windows servers on their network to keep it up and running. As of right now, all our machines except 2 (cancun and tahiti which will be back shortly as well) are back on the network. Fortunately, our servers are running Linux and not Windows For your information, our forums and helpdesk are back up, so please contact us there with any questions you may have. This same announcement has been sent out to all our clients a few minutes ago as well. Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience

Would someone please tell me what are the specifications of servers at datahost.net?

wehave had downtime with mchost but eh I think no matter where you go you will suffer downtime eventually no matter what you do..its the net its the way it works and functions... its not how much down time you suffer its how the downtime is handedl and you are kept informed... mchost s top for that.I always receive e-mails explaing what is going on as well as updates and such...also their forum alone with worth the $35 a month...more support then then any 24/7 can guarentee... down time is unavoidable...its how its handeld that matters
