Posted by bennguyen82, 05-13-2008, 05:19 PM Hey guys, I am building a website which require a data feed from a third party data provider. I have to fill out a 'questionair' when submitting my application and I'm not sure what to put for this questions. Please help! Question: "Have you run a vulnerability assessment of network security? What is the current assessment rating?" I Google'd for security rating but came up blank, without any useful result. Is there a level like 1-5 or something for network security rating ? I m not sure what to put on here. I'm not against getting a shared / virtual hosting account if the a host could provide me with these ratings. Any suggestions ? Any help would be appreciated.
Posted by JulesR, 05-13-2008, 08:38 PM From what I'm aware (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) there's no specific body that provides industry standard network security assessment ratings. Your best bet is to contact the provider of the questionnaire and ask them to cite desired sources for the ratings, as they may have their own preference(s). Otherwise they may simply request you provide your own rating and the methods used to obtain that rating.
Posted by atomicturtle, 05-14-2008, 02:31 PM I assume this is for PCI DSS? In that case you would need to have an audit performed by a PCI QSA (qualified security assessor).
