Iptables & crontab problem

Posted by hbhb, 11-08-2007, 08:10 PM
I have 2 problem which I am using cpanel server, apf + bfd #1. The crontab keep 'resetting' itself everyday I removed 0 1 * * * * /scripts/cpbackup to remove the automatic backup so that I can run backup manually myself but it keep appearing inside my crontab every morning. How do I solve this problem? #2. My website (www.website.com) and WHM (www.website.com:2086) cannot load every morning until I stop the iptables. This obviously has something to do with my firewall configurations. How do I solve this problem?

Login to your WHM and go to backup --> configure backup area. From here disable the backup. Check your APF conf file to see if cpanel related ports are enabled. Search for the following line and replace it with this one. Restart apf apf -r

Also try editing the /var/spool/cron entries too and it should the entries active there. Again, if you do have upcp running then it will be better if you could disable backups via WHM that should do it.
