GNAX Ready to Take on Out-of-Luck Nirvanix Cloud Storage Customers

According to the story released on Information age, cloud storage startup, Nirvanix is shutting down due to financial difficulties. Customers only have two weeks to recover and move their data to another provider, such as GNAX.
"It is an unfortunate situation for these customers that we have seen many times in this industry," commented Jeff Hinkle, Global Net Access chief executive officer. "Startups are great. They are the creative engines of our economy, but they are inherently risky. As a customer, it is hard to see that risk because you are receiving such a great product. That is until an announcement like this gets made."
GNAX is a privately held data center services company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1999 and has retained net income profitability since 2003. GNAX espouses diligent financial management and disciplined growth as key to its financial stability and commercial success. "We never take on more debt than we can handle," continued Mr. Hinkle. "Sure, it may mean that we don't grow quite as fast as our competitors, but it ensures a reliable experience for our customers."
GNAX is a strategic partner and reseller of EMC, which powers GNAX's managed cloud storage solutions. All of GNAX's archiving and backup platforms rely on EMC, including its Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) for medical images. "Using trusted hardware from EMC ensures the system runs smoothly for our customers," explained Senior Storage Architect for GNAX, Stephen Turley.
GNAX also offers unique EMC based replication services, giving customers the ability to store one copy of data onsite and replicate a second copy to one or more of GNAX's data centers. GNAX can provide these managed storage solutions as a capital expenditure, a monthly operational cost, or a combination of both.
"As we architect solutions for our customers, it is important that we have all options at our disposal," mentioned Mr. Turley. "Storage systems can be complex, especially across multiple sites. Some customers want all of their data onsite and some are running out of space onsite. With access to all of EMC's products and services, we can construct the best solutions for the lowest price."
"It is a sad situation for Nirvanix. We wish all their employees well," said Mr. Hinkle. "But the important thing is that their customers have a safe place to go here at GNAX."
